Message from the Executive Director
RCIPA is pleased to announce that the upcoming year represents Rochester Community Individual Practice Association's 25th anniversary. Many things have changed over the last 25 years, but RCIPA has stayed true to its mission:
a commitment to physician and patient advocacy and to delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and accessible care.
The undertaking of this mission has taken many forms over the years, but we have stayed the course and, as necessary, adapted to the ever-changing healthcare landscape.
As we move into 2010, our partnership with Aetna enters its ninth year. RCIPA values the high level of service and cooperation from Aetna's local network team. We continue to advocate for a competitive, fair reimbursement rate for our panel with Aetna and our other TPA partners, POMCO and Independent Health. These partnerships provide additional choices in the local health insurance market for Rochester-area employer groups. As always, please contact the RCIPA office with any questions regarding these lines of business.
The Board and staff are very proud of the success of RochesterHealth.com which was launched in January 2009. Rochester Health, Inc., a non-profit sister organization to RCIPA, developed the site to advance health awareness and access by providing local healthcare information to the Rochester community.
We are pleased with how the healthcare community has endorsed and embraced the site. Practices have contributed to the website by enhancing their directory listings with photos, website and bios. If you would like to enhance your listing, please send us an email via the contact form at: RochesterHealth.com/contact
If you have not already registered as an RH Professional User, we encourage you and your staff to do so and take advantage of the opportunity to post healthcare jobs, calendar events and news about your staff. Directory enhancements and all postings are a free service to the healthcare community. Registered users will also receive e-newsletters with updates about new features of the website.
Rochester Health invites providers to submit articles for the Healthnotes section of the website and welcomes your expertise in developing featured content for our 2010 editorial calendar. We are also pleased to introduce Maria Magans, our new Business Development Director, who will be working to further introduce the website to the local healthcare community. Please email us or give us a call if you would like more information about Rochester Health.
RCIPA has celebrated many successes and overcome many challenges over the last 25 years. We appreciate the support of the physician and allied health professional community as we continue to accomplish our mission and adapt for the future.
